Countdown To DUSU 2024 Election Dates Nomination Deadlines And More Announced

The University of Delhi has officially announced the schedule for the Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) elections for the academic year 2024-25. As per the schedule, the elections will be held on September 27, 2024. Students interested in contesting the elections can submit their nominations on September 17, 2024. The counting of votes is slated to take place on September 28, 2024.

The DUSU elections will determine the office-bearers for key positions, including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Joint Secretary, as well as members of the university's central council. The detailed election schedule is as follows:

In preparation for the upcoming elections, the University of Delhi has appointed Mr. Satyapal Singh as the Chief Election Officer. Mr. Singh will oversee the smooth conduct of the student union polls for the 2024-25 academic year. Additionally, a three-member committee has been established to facilitate the election process. Professor Raj Kishore Sharma from the Department of Chemistry has been designated as the Chief Returning Officer, and Mr. Rajesh Singh, a librarian, has been appointed as the Returning Officer.

 

 

Highlights of the 2023 DUSU Elections

The previous DUSU elections, held on September 22, 2023, saw the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidate, Mr. Tushar Dedha, winning the President’s position. Ms. Aprajita secured the post of Secretary, while Mr. Sachin Baisla was elected as Joint Secretary. The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) candidate, Mr. Abhi Dahiya, won the Vice-President's post.

Students intending to participate in the 2024-25 elections are advised to review the official circular and complete their registrations within the stipulated deadlines to ensure their eligibility This announcement signifies the university's commitment to a fair and transparent election process, providing students with a structured timeline and clear guidelines for participation.
