Dr. S. Nagarathinam is winner of EU-India Media Award and the UNFPA-Laadli Media Awards for Photography and Lyrics. In 2017, he was honoured by Vice-Chancellor Prof.Dr.P.P.Chelladurai for the research contributions to the University.

Madurai Kamaraj University was established in the year 1965 and was named after the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu K. Kamaraj, is a leading government university situated in the southern part of Tamil Nadu state in India. Accredited by University Grants Commission (UGC), the campus of the MKU is spread over 750 acres and is popularly known as ‘Palkalainagar’ or University Township.

Through its 20 Schools, 75 Departments, and 14 centers, MKU offers a wide spectrum of programs. It is linked with 77 colleges and has 19 recognised institutions under its umbrella. The Directorate of Distance Education serves a huge population of over 1. 3 lakhs. MKU’s commitment towards the quality of education is evidenced by the recognition received from the UGC as a “University with Potential for Excellence” and establishment of several CoE’s.

Besides academics, MKU offers her students a complete package of learning experience. It provides more academic programs and student services than other universities in the region. Information on scholarships and career openings are easily accessible. Students are offered an opportunity to learn from noted professors, engage in undergraduate research, and acquire leadership experience. MKU University has a diverse population of students and lecturers from within the country and other parts of the world. Exam Procedure

Pattern of Semester Exam: Internal - 25 Marks , External - 75 Marks , Total - 100 Marks

Theory examinations will be evaluated by the examiners appointed by Madurai Kamaraj University.
There is no passing minimum for internal examination
The passing minimum for external examination is 27 out of 75 marks.
A candidate should be declared to have passed in each paper / practical if he/ she secures not less than 40% (aggregate of Internal and External) of the marks prescribed for the examination.
