LPU Holds Online Freshmen Induction Programs for Thousands of Distance and Online Students

Jalandhar May 25^th, 2024: Lovely Professional University’s (LPU) Centre of Online and Distance Education (CODE) Recently conducted student induction programs for the February 2024 intake of its online and distance learning students. These programs were delivered via a webinar platform and streamed live on the LPU’s official YouTube channels and Facebook pages dedicated to online at-distance education. Thousands of new students from various disciplines, including management, computer applications, Information Technology, Science commerce, Arts, and library and Information Sciences participated in these induction sessions to familiarize themselves with the university distance and online learning systems and processes.

The induction programs featured a series of interactive sessions covering topics such as the university's backgrounds, key aspects of UGC regulations, and open and distance learning (ODL) and online (OL) programs. A virtual campus tour, an overview of the learning management system, academic Delivery, evaluation system, and student support services tailored for online and distance learners were included. These programs were meticulously designed in alignment with the University Grants Commission’s template for student induction programs for ODL and OL programs.

During these sessions, the students had the opportunity to engage directly with senior LPU officials, including the Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Dr. Monica GUlati, Director, Dr. Pavitra Prakash Singh, Head of Wing Miss Ginni Nijhawan, as well as senior faculty and staff members of the Center for distance and online education. This direct interaction allowed students to clarify their doubts and queries fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The induction programs inspired the newly enrolled learners to excel in their academic and professional journeys by making the most of the comprehensive opportunities provided by LPU as a part of their study programs.
