Ajeenkya DY Patil University Awarded The Highest Degree In The Field Of Education To Members Of The Dawoodi Bohra Communitys Royal Family

The esteemed Ajeenkya DY Patil University has recently bestowed the highest academic accolade in the realm of education, Doctorate of Letters (D.Litt.) in Honoris Causa, upon Dr. Abdulqadir Moiz Nooruddin and Dr. Abduttayyib Qusai Vajihuddin, the distinguished grandsons of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb (the former spiritual guide of the Bohra community) and nephews of the contemporary spiritual leader His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb. 

Dr. Nooruddin was distinguished with a Doctorate of Letters (D. Litt.) (Honoris Causa) by Ajeenkya D.Y. Patil University for his strategic prowess in conceptualizing and implementing the construction of the avant-garde Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah Arabic Academy campus at Marol (Mumbai), which was recently inaugurated by the Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The university's conferment also acknowledges his exceptional leadership in navigating the advancement of numerous intricate community projects, notably the SBUT redevelopment project, a ground-breaking endeavor that significantly ameliorates the lives of thousands inhabiting one of Mumbai's most ancient and densely populated areas.

The esteemed University situated in Pune, accredited by the University Grants Commission, conferred an honorary doctorate upon Dr. Vajihuddin in acknowledgment of his significant contributions to the realm of Human Resources Management. As a distinguished member of the Haj Committee of India, Dr. Abduttayyib Vajihuddin exemplifies leadership by overseeing the operations of Hajj pilgrims in addition to numerous Dawoodi Bohra mausoleums throughout India. A distinguished alumnus of a prestigious London-based University, Dr. Abuduttayyib presides over an array of social, educational, and economic development committees within the Bohra community.

Commenting on the conferment, Dr. Nooruddin said, "I am humbled and deeply honored to receive this Doctorate from Ajeenkya DY Patil University. It is a reflection of the vision and guidance provided to us by the late His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb and His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb, who have both been ardent advocates for community development and education. It is also a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams I have had the privilege to work with in developing various community projects. I am grateful and remain committed to meaningfully contributing to the community and the society at large."

This honor reflects not only my individual achievements but also the enduring spirit of service and excellence embodied by the Bohra community."

The distinguished gathering at Badri Mahal, situated in South Mumbai, was graced by the presence of numerous eminent educationists, academicians, and professionals. Amongst them were Dr. Ajeenkya D. Y. Patil, Chairman of the D. Y. Patil Group and the incumbent Chancellor of the University; Prof. Hrridaysh Deshpande, esteemed Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Makarand Joshi, esteemed Controller of Examinations; and His Eminence Prince Qusai Vajihuddin Saheb.
